    Default Heart murmur

    Hi,

31 weeks pregnant and was told I have a heart murmur. Getting a scan and ecg done to check it out.
Does it mean anything different for labour?
Would I get induced earlier than normal?

Do you know why you have a murmur?

Ok, you have 2 kinds of murmurs, they sound the same. One is inocent, so then it will probably as normal just mor observation and the other is a symptom of something more dangerous. They will have to do test to figure out which it is and if it is not inocent what the cause is so they can treat you approprietely. HTH

I had a heart mumur in my last 2 pregnancies. I had an echo done after it was detected and then weekly EGC's to ensure everything was ok. I just had to be very aware of things like chest pain, dizziness, extreme fatigue.

I had a normal delivery for both babies (now 2.4 & almost 8 months) and had them both at 41 weeks. It caused no problems in labour and they generally resolve themselves after pregnancy. That wasn't my case though.

Heart murmur's are pretty common in pregnancy due to the extra blood flow and pressure on the body in pregnancy. It's good that it's getting checked out though.

Wishing you lots of luck. Feel free to ask me any more questions.
