Default 5 month old bub & returning to work, start now to secure place or not?

I will be returning to work in august/september when DD will be 8/9 months.

My local FDC has an opening now, and I don't know how long it will stay open!

To start with I'll be working 2x days a week, and they can be flexible, but when DD is 12 months I'll re-assess how many days.

If I do increase my days what are my chances of being able to get more days?

BTW I live in a semi-rural area, I don't know if that changes anything?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure about increasing days etc but I'm going through the same thing- we don't need childcare until sept but I'm looking at putting DD in now to secure the spot even if I don't want to, it's frustrating but at least she will hopefully be better adjusted.
