Default Lowering Cholesterol... What steps to take?

Okay so action plan of what's wrong with me is my cholesterol is up and the doctor wants me to get it down. So does anyone have any tips/advice that I can change in my everyday diet to help reduce it?

What products can I swap to make it better?

    Thanks so much everyone

Hi, if you google it you will find a list of foods to avoid and some to include in your diet. My Dh has had high cholesterol, he is very fit, eats healthy and is not overweight, unfortunately it's hereditary in his family. He is determined not to go on prescription medication. The one product that he has been on and keeps it controlled is "polycostinol". Some supermarkets, health shops have it and at times it is hard to find but if you also do a google search on high cholesterol you will find alternative natural products. Sugar cane is what polycostinol consists off. So that with cutting out fatty foods and dairy is a start.

Check on me and google it but I think avocado is good for lowering cholesterol. Also... investigate coconut oil for cooking with - I think it has a whole range of health benefits.

Cut out saturated fat , dairy and trans fats. ( processed food) then eat loads of green veggies, nuts, fish ( especially salmon) and oats and use olive oil instead of butter/marg - and yes even
Though coconut oil is a saturated fat i think it has some kind of natural steroid that actually reduces cholesterol
