Anyone had a child in a HIP SPICA cast?

Before the Op make sure you speak to OT and Physio so that they can get her name down for a chair and special car seat if needed, depending on how they cast her post op she likely wont fit normally in her pram or car seat, They often dont have lots of small chairs at the hospital so get them to start thinking about it as soon as you can.

Thanks, we have just borrowed a maxi rider from a friend which is one of the seats they can fit into and I think our pram will be ok with a towel under her bottom.

A friend was looking into those little tables you can get. Argh, I'm so nervous. xoxo

I loved the maxi rider I borrowed from the hospital, i ended up buying one for DD!
With the table I just got a cheap one from regect shop that went over her when she sat on the lounge etc. Kind of like the hospital tables.
You may still need to make adjustments to the seat depending on the type of cast it is. But the ot's at the hospital will do this. I remember so many different people coming in and out after her operation. But they were all so helpful.
Start stocking up on craft supplies, playdough etc. I had a box full of 'things' that I could pull out and do with DD while she was in a cast.

Thanks, Op is this Friday, so wishing it didn't have to happen I am scared about her waking up in recovery without us My poor baby.

She loves playdough so we will get some more, loves books and I have ordered an Ipad type thing.
