    Default VBA3C probably not do-able?

    Hi everyone

So I am the victim of OBS care tacticts about natural birth VS CS births, right from child 1.

Now 3 CS I come across an OB in my 4th pregnancy who actually QUESTiONED why I had the 3 CS ummm because I was 21 when I had my first and all scare tacticts were used that normal birth would not work because her head had not dcesended I know better than this now. The other 2 were the usual VBAC scare tacticts obs like to use, now my 4th baby the Ob says I would never find an OB who woul support of a vba3c as this is unheard of...

Just wanted some thoughts on this topic I feel like I have a lifetime of regret for thinking I was doing the right thing by taking the professionals advice...

I feel like a failure 3 CS and one impending one.

Just after a bit of advice..

I've had 3 c-sections, first was needed, 2nd was scare tactics, 3rd bub was breech. I'm not pregnant yet, but have spoken to my OB about it already. He basically said, while he would prefer that I have a c-section for the 4th, he can't force me to.
At the end of the day it's your body and they can't force you to do it. The problem with this though is that they will still try and scare you. I had a doula for my 3rd so I had at least 1 person in the room who would back me up.
If you are going to give it a go have some support with you!
    Good luck!

Hi I couldn't read without replying, I've had two c-sections both I'm still trying to come to terms with my first was emergency which could have been avoided if I was listened to was 21 asks they just thought I was stupid. Second scare tactics by OB.

If I have another I will be planning a vba2c I will attempt not to get too attached to the idea but... If all goes well I will not organize anything till 40 weeks as if I end up going onto labour then that's what will happen I will not be pushed into anything.

I agree your body they can't make you do what they want you to do. And they can refuse you either from what I can work out.... Best of luck.

I had a very successful VBA2C. I would do lots of reading and research and get all your medical records.
Only you can make the final decision with a supportive care provider.
“When people say, "You really, really must" do something, it means you don't really have to. No one ever says, "You really, really must deliver the baby during labor." When it's true, it doesn't need to be said.”

Sounds like you need to decide if you want a vaginal birth. If you do then find yourself the supports you need to achieve this. VBAmC is possible and many women have achieved this.
    Good luck in your decision

Well, it is probably fairly accurate that it would be hard to find an OB who will support VBAMC. But are they letting you know of your options and alternatives? Such as, that the obstetric model of care is not the ONLY model of care? Have they advised you of the Midwifery Model of Care? The Midwifery Model might not be for every woman, every pregnancy - but the CHOICE should always be on offer.

The midwifery has a different philosophy. The obstetric model would consider VBAC high risk. The midwifery model would consider VBAC a variation of normal, and previous ceasarean no contra-indication to normal physiological vaginal birth.

How would you feel about speaking with an independent midwife about your options? They can sometimes offer a different perspective. I know of midwives who have supported women to have VBACs are multiple caesareans, including Wintergreen of The Pink Kit, who I understand once supported a woman who'd had 10 c/s before a normal birth with her 11th.

I am a doula and I myself have had the great privilege of supporting women who've had several c/s before finally having the VBAC they hoped for.

If you would like more info, please feel free to pm me, I'm not sure I am allowed to post links here.

I wish you all the best - you are not asking for the moon, and i for one would like to go on record as saying, YES! You *can* have a vaginal birth after multiple caesareans.

    All the best!

Just had to share this one - my favourite VBAMC youtube montage - still makes me tear up!

I hope it is encouraging for you. She had 3 c/s then a normal birth! This is her story.

Can I ask if your private or public? And are they letting you go to your due date? Sorry to ask questions but if i am to have a third I would love to try for a vba2c.
