Default Cost of Tube removal for Hydro

I need help, i was recently diagnosed with a hydrosalpinx blockage in my right fallopian tube which is causing discomfort, i have been put on the public hospital waiting list but after calling them they have said it may take up to 6 months i am on the sunshine coast in QLD. Has anyone had this done public or private, i am looking for costs if i was to go private to try and get it done quicker so i can start ivf, so my options would be full public, private specialist in public hospital or full private, im unsure of my options but im in pain. Thanks ladies

    Hi Sarahwantsababy,

I just had both my tubes removed for the same reasons, I went in as a private paying patient at a public hospital, but the surgeon was also part of the team from my fert clinic, as the public waiting list in Perth was 8-12 months, if there was not too many emergency surgeries in that time frame and I couldn't wait that long. I ended up only waiting 2 weeks, I got a little bit of change from $4k!!!!! But worth it as I had my surgery in May and am back seeing the clinic for ivf 12/7, as it works out if ivf works in the first few tries for me, I may have a baby (fingers crossed and wishing so hard) by the time I would of had my surgery!!!

    Hope this helps
