Picnic rug is a good idea for in the car too, the rubbery back is good because it holds on to the car seat and doesn't slip around, but I used a folder up towel too.

I was lying on the sofa. The dog ate my pencil 😃 so I got up to get another one and my waters broke. I managed to jump off the rug onto the bamboo floor before it reached the floor though 😜.

With Dd at 39+5, I'd been sitting on the floor and had just a packed the very last thing into my hospital bag when upon standing up, pop!

Hoping with this one they'll pop while I'm replying to this thread at 40+4 lol

Re mattress protectors, we finally got a new mattress last month so weren't taking any risks! Got 2 x protect-a-bed waterproof mattress protectors and theyre under me right now I think anyone who wants to keep their mattress nice should have a protector on, not just in case your waters break but for inevitable midnight boobie leaks and baby accidents etc.

I had a trickle, I was doing last minute things like hairdressers and a family snap of DS1 and me on Santas knee (Santa asked when I was due and I answered as the lady was snapping away alas a very distressed Santa haha) the hair dresser was also a bit anxious...haha

My waters didn't break with my first.(until labour I mean!)

My mum leaked with me, she was spinning wool (for anyone that doesnt know what they are you have to push a pedal up and down) every time she pushed down with her foot a bit more waters leaked. hahaha

My man friend and I have a bet going that it will be during or after DTD with DD2 I'm due in 3 weeks but will be induced in 2 weeks Max!!!!!!!!

With DD the dr broke mine as part of my induction due to GD wasn't a trickle or a gush...

Ok, they didn't break while replying to this thread as I had hoped, but they did break in bed two hours later And that was only two hours after I repacked all the hospital bags etc., I think there's something in that... Perhaps my babies know I'm a slacker and they need to give me some extra time to pack bags etc lol
