Default Which obstetrician to go in SJOG Subi?

    Hi everyone,

Just cam out from my GP to confirm that I am definitely pregnant !!! yeah!
I have been calling the obs in SJOG Subi WA for an hour now, some of them already fully booked!

Anyway, I am thinking to go with Dr Helen Clarke or Dr Linda Wong? Does anyone has any recent experiences with them? How are their midwifes?

    thanks heaps!

    very existing & nervous mom-to-be

I highly recommend dr Simon turner. He is very sought after but you can try him. His private rooms are in subiaco.

When u fell pregnant with my first I was told Helen Clarke wasn't that good but it's only one persons opinion. Louise Farrell is extremely experienced - she's head of obstetrics and on the board at st johns. I feel so comfortable with her overseeing my pregnancies and know im in good hands in the off chance of something going wrong!

They are all so hard to get into!!
Hes probably already booked out but Michael Gannon is fantastic!

If you want a woman, try Melissa O'Neil. Apparently absolutely lovely with a gorgeous bedside manner.

I have heard Helen Clarke is very uprfont and to the point, if you like that style she may suit you...
I dont know much about Linda Wong, except one of my friends had her and wont use her again, as she couldnt be bothered coming to her during the night, but thats just her story...iykwim

    Good luck and congrats!

Haha isn't that why they get paid so much. To be on call all the time and get up in the middle of the night! That's terrible!!

I second Melissa O'Neill! Absolutely amazing. She has also called me throughout my 2 ectopics too (even though technically wasn't under her care as I went through KEMH for the surgeries), she is such a caring doctor.

Made me so comfortable throughout my entire pregnancy with DD. also made the birth and hospital stay super easy. I can't recommend her enough!

Thanks everyone for the comments! Im so grateful!
seems like Dr Helen Clarke's style (upfronting) will not suit me as this is my first prenancy and Im I will have a millions questions!

Anyway, a friend's friend has used Dr Vincent Lee (based in Mercy Hospital) last year and has highly recommended him. From what I heard, he has a very caring personality. But I am a bit concern about Mercy, I drove pass it yesterday, the hospital is not as modern as SJOG Subi, not sure about the facilities etc?

    All comments are welcome!

    thanks heaps again!!!!

I had Dr Adam Gubbay with both of my kids and he was fantastic, I will definitely be going back to him if we have another baby.

SIL went to Dr Helen Clarke and spoke very highly of her also.
