    Default Calm birth classes anyone?

Can anyone recommend an amazing calmbirth educator in Melbourne, better yet, eastern suburbs?

Juliana Brennan from Mamatoto midwives does them in the Yarra Valley over the weekend. Just did one last week and it was awesome. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I did it with gill merzvinskis - balwyn I think, she's great, really passionate. I've worked with her professionally and a few of my colleagues who were also pregnant did it through her too. Google her name and calmbirth and it comes up with her website. Her number is 0430 305 200. Good luck!

I second Juliana. I think she also runs the classes from Croydon.

I am looking at this class and worried it might be too full on, especially for DH.
As in 2 full days straight of birthing talk...

    Can anyone comment on this?

    Default Calm birth classes anyone?

My hubby was very iffy about even going to the class, but it's very practical in the way it's explained what's actually happening in your body and gives the boys concrete things/tasks to do and how they can help you. Afterwards, he was really glad we did the class, he commented that it really helped him to know exactly what sort of things he could do during labour

Sorry I didn't ask my question properly.

DH is happy to come along to a calmbirth class. I am just worried that a wkd format might not be the best as very full-on schedule wise.

I was wondering if maybe 3 or 4 week night session would be better than a whole week end dedicated to calmbirth?

Default Re: Calm birth classes anyone?

My friends have just finished a course and it was 2 consecutive sundays with a week in between. Maybe look at something like that? We did 2 evening sessions and then a full day as gill was flexible with delivery but we had weekend shifts to factor in etc. I actually really enjoyed the full day the most.
