Default First appointment with Ob. What questions to ask?

I've booked my first appointment with private ob and need to know what questions I should ask on the first visit.

What should i expect on the first visit and how long should i allow for the consultation.

I guess every Ob would be different but at my first appointment (9 weeks) I was told to allow two hours. I filled out the hospital paperwork and then saw the practice midwife who went through quite a lot with me. Then we saw the Ob for about 15-20 minutes. The first thing she said to me was 'so our goal is a natural birth?' so I didn't even need to talk to her about what I wanted, she and I were already on the same wavelength, she did a quick scan and we just had a chat.

Some ideas - ask what their approach to birth is, how long they would let you go over before inducing and in what circumstances they would recommend a c-section. The practice should provide you with a schedule of fees, if not ask.

I'm sure the other lovely girls on here will have other suggestions for you. Good luck!
