    Default Shoe Size question

    Hi folks,
Sorry if this sounds like a silly question but I was just wondering how long toddlers generally take to grow to the next shoe size. I'm just wondering whether to buy more expensive shoes or more pairs or if they will grow out of it quickly (my DD is size 4 atm)
Thanks hope not too strange a question

With DS (who is 2.5) I bought him size 4 summer sandals when he was 12 months, then three weeks later I had to buy size 5 as he had outgrown them. He was then in size 5 shoes for the next 11 months. Then I bought him shoes in a size 6 and a month later I was buying size 7s. Fortunately he has stayed in size 7s for a few months and they are still fitting fine.

I guess it just depends when their feet have a growth spurt.

A salesperson in shoes n sox said that toddlers grow 1-2 sizes every 2 months.
Not true for DD1 who is 4 and only just in a size 8, but spot on for DD2 who is 2.5 and wearing a 6.5.

I bought my DD a pair of clarks shoes when she was 11 months (walking confidently). They come with an added insole so when she out grows them (which she hasn't yet at 14 months) you can take the added insole out and it gives you pretty much the next size up.

DS is 16 months old and is a size 7. We normally get 2-3 months out of a pair of shoes depending on brand.

My son got the insoles aswell. They are great and cumfy and you can skip a size. At age 4 he was in a size 10 and now almost 5 he is going straight into a size 12.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Especially the info about the clarks shoes. I think I might snap up a pair in the David Jones sales

DD is a size 5 in her nike sneakers, a size 4 in clarks... she has a shoe obsession so we buy alot of shoes but the nikes and the clarks are the exxy pairs that we got her when she was 10 months and she still fits in them and wears them daily... She is now 15 months
