Me too ... mine is cut every 4 weeks and usually I can see the 'sparkly bits' showing through after 2 weeks, so run another colour through.

When I could afford it I would dye it myself every 6 weeks. Now its more like every 6 months.

I used to get foils and go lighter to try to 'blend' the grey (going grey early runs in family - joy!) but as it was so expensive I would not get it done often enough which was ok a few years ago, but not now the top of my head would be about 50% grey. So I started using packets again and have gone darker. It costs about 10% of what I was paying so I can afford to do it every 4-6 weeks as needed.

I go to a salon every 6-8 weeks. Used to always do it at home but decided to make an effort of spoiling myself with it. Also because I make such a mess doing it myself and have no one who will help me!

Not often enough since becoming a mum, which is why I have to go for lighter colours these days instead of dark otherwise I rock the dark hair / light roots look!

For those that home dye is there a particular brand you use? And do you go different each time?

Mine was garnier this time, but usually just what's in special. My natural colour is a dark chocolate brown & I dye it pretty close to that, sometimes go with one with a hint of burgundy or red, but mostly brown

While I don't have any greys to cover, I've always used Live, in the the red packets (Live Brilliance maybe?)

ETA: For some reason I thought you mentioned greys - just re-read an you didn't!
