Default BLW and Breastfeeding - when to stop offering breast first?

    Hi All,

Many years ago when I had my DSs the going thing was to offer breast before food until 8months then offer food first then breast after 8months (I didnt do BLW with DS1 and DS2).

Is this still the norm especially with BLW babes? When do you stop offering breast first?

Pretty sure its 12 months regardless of blw or not now. My mil was just saying about how it used to be 8 months lol. I think you can just follow your babies lead. Some babies take to food better and earlier than others. Both my kids have been absolutely hopeless. My first was addicted to the bottle and my second is the same with the boob.. but I have friends whose babies were eating 3 proper meals a day at 7.months and dropping milk feeds.
