Blue lips - I'm so so sorry to hear your news. As you know, I have only just gone through the very same thing. The Ob and sonographer had said everything looked perfect, but there was just no baby... I had my d&c last Tuesday and have just stopped spotting. I haven't had any pain at all from the surgery, but have had a fair bit of abdominal bloating. Dh and I are planning on ttc straight away because the thought of waiting seems harder to deal with. However when I poas the line is still extremely dark, so I'm assuming it will be a few more weeks yet before the levels drop completely.
Definitely get ur dh to be at the hospital with you as it's a tough day. I found it more tough emotionally than physically, as I've felt no physical pain through all this.
Again I'm so sorry and my thoughts are with you x

Thankyou Brulee for sharing your story. It's so sad. We will be so paranoid next pregnancy. I think we too will be trying straight away. Thinking I'll ask my endocrinologist for clomid as I'm worried I'll ovulate late again.

My DH is going to take the day off and come with me.

Bluelips I am so sorry to read of your blighted ovum

If you're terrified of a D&C, then ask for misoprostol instead. After reading this thread, I would never want a D&C unless it was my last resort: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...man-s-Syndrome

If you do decide to go the medical (drugs) route instead of surgery, just double check when you can start ttc as I have heard that you need to wait three cycles following use of the drugs as it has some kind of effect on the lining.
I was hoping for a natural miscarriage, but the ob said the sac was already 3cm therefore would do a d&c. He said if the sac was less than 1cm, it would more likely miscarry naturally.
Best if luck with whatever you decide. It's an awful situation to be in. Take care x

BlueLips - I'm so sorry. I was hoping your scan would show more positive results. Take care. It's not fair.

    Hi girls

D+C is Tuesday. Need a final ultrasound to confirm blighted ovum on Monday as sac measures 21mm and new guidelines say they won't confirm it till its > 25mm.

Had good and bad days. very exhausted.
