Your story seems to be really common on the Internet and I so hope I have the same outcome. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your story. Will be sure to update.

Shanandboc- yes they did but she got me to put it in and I don't think she put it in far enough. I kept seeing a flash of a little white line but I'm no ultrasound tech.

At 7 weeks we should know for sure. Thanks for sharing your story

At 5w3d I had an empty sack no pole no nothing I'm now 16w5d and they baby is doing well. Between 5 & 6 weeks a days difference can be the difference between seeing something and seeing nothing.

My bestie had a seemingly empty sac at 6+1, but gave birth 7 months later to a perfectly healthy boy.
Finger crossed the dating scan might have not had your dates right.

Oh and I went through a loooooot of scares and frights in the first 10 weeks due to ultrasounds showing all sorts of strange things (gave birth to a healthy normal boy at 35+6). I was shown this website:

    http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pre...evelopment.htm

It tells you what you can expect in the first 10 weeks. It says between 5,5 and 6,5 weeks they can detect a yolksack and sometimes even a fetal pole and heartbeat. It also said that dating scans are also not always accurate, so when a fetal pole does not show between 5,5 and 6,5 weeks, they will get you back a week later to repeat the scan.

At my first ultrasound the insensitive woman doing it even asked if I'd had a pregnancy test because she couldn't find anything!?! Then someone with a brain came and found my 1.7mm baby.

She's now an unmistakable and gorgeous 8kg of squishy goodness. So I hope its just a bit early

    When is your next scan?

Boobycino- my god some medical people are insensitive. Mine didn't even suggest a follow up scan! Luckily my GP said it's likely just too early. Scan is in 6 days.

Next Tuesday afternoon. DH is coming with me.

Im trying to be positive and realistic. I swore I could see something on the ultrasound. Let's hope she didn't have the "probe" pushed in far enough. Or my little bean has grown in that time.

Thanks for all the positive stories and wishes
