My hubby started crying when the little baby Emma was born. He was so emotional. It was amazing they saved that bubba's life.

It's differnt, I certainly didn't have my feet up in stirrups giving birth! But I love seeing people sharing different experiences in childbirth.
Can't wait for my turn in 5 weeks!! Was on thr phone to my mum as we were watching, she said "I don't know how you can stand to watch this knowing it'll be you soon, all that pain!"
But it honestly doesn't bother me- I'm a realist, haha. I can't avoid it now or pretend it isn't going to happen!
Hahaha I'm quite happy to pretend its not gonna happen like that, being a realist for me means I don't sleep!!
•day dreams of sneezing an pop! Oh look there's the baby!• I think that's much better lol (5week wait an lucky me will prob be in like 3 days of labour lol)

That makes sense, the show wouldn't be as interesting if they were all straightforward, simple births.

They had a natural birth on the first episode. The couple were very keen to let things progress naturally and had a detailed birth plan. They clashed with the nurse (they don't call them midwives on the show, not sure if they are midwives) who obviously didn't know how to help them, and I think about 17 hours in Mum ended up on the drip, but she did give birth without an epi. Mum and Dad were vocalising through each contraction and all the nurses were out at the desk rolling their eyes.

ETA - quoted the wrong post!

Not all drug free births involve pain and noise. I had a drug free birth and it was quiet and calm. Watching these shows stresses me out sometimes as I haven't finished having babies yet & I worry that my next birth might actually hurt and I'll turn into one of those ladies yelling at her partner lol. I make DH watch them so he knows how lucky he is!

My midwife tried to take my epidural out and wiggled my nerve causing permanent damage. Out of no where I get shooting pains up my whole body and it straightens out stiff as a board even if I am sitting! I yelp in pain and it's embarassing in public. I don't watch this show, I'm afraid to!

Don't stress too much. I had a natural birth and I vocalised through each contraction but at no point did I yell at DH - I didn't even talk to him I was so focused on what I was doing. I only swore once which I was quite proud of!
