Default Best way to resign from my job

I got a job in as a beauty therapist after being a SAHM for a few years. But my passion isn't there. I don't enjoy it and I dread going to work.
I want to quit but I feel bad cause the lady is the only one and it will put her out. But I feel I have to be honest with myself.
    How should I resign?

Where I work it is customary to write a resignation letter and deliver it personally to your boss. Don't send an email or phone or anything - in person is really the only decent way.

Presumably you will be giving notice so she will have time to find someone else before you finish up. Don't stress, it's all part of running a business for her!

Maybe you could give six weeks notice so she has time to replace you and get the replacement up to speed

Maybe write out your letter ready to go and then sit down with your boss over coffee and explain how you feel. You might be surprised at the reaction you get she may have already picked up vibes from you. If you are flexible with the notice you give as well I'm sure it would be much appreciated. Finally making the decision and sharing it may put some pep back in your step too I know it did for me I actually enjoyed my last 5 weeks at work cause I knew the end was in sight.

    Best of luck

Yup, I agree with the others. A letter in person. As long as you're giving notice so she has time to find someone to replace you, there's no reason to feel guilty. She's better off having someone in the position who wants to be there, too.
Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want right now!
