Default Xmas Tassie or Gold/sunshine coast? Help me choose!!

We live in the tropics near the beach and are trying to choose between Tassie (never been to) or the Gold/sunshine coast (have done before). The Tassie trip would cost $5000 just in accom, flights, hire car for 10 days and its a big day of travel to get there(7hours all up). Gold Coast would be about the same (flights cheaper but accom more expensive). Will also only take 2.5/3 hours travel. We will have a 3 yr and 1 yr old and would plan to do the 'worlds' on coast, or farmstays, wildlife, foodie stuff in Tas.

    Help me choose?!

Tassie but I live here and love it so I'm slightly biased too!!

Recently I took my almost. 3yo to gold coast for ten days spending around the same as you. We had a lovely time but it was just sooooo busy. We are very laid back so a slower destination probably would have suited us better.

There is sooo much to see and do here in tassie. If you want any accommodation suggestion just sing out.

Tassie- it's a lovely place & it is so different to where you live & the gc where you've been before. It will also be less hectic, so less stress

I'm picking Tasmania as well. It's do beautiful and you have to live up to your user name! Also I am not sue how much benefit your little ones would get from "the worlds" at their age. I would wait until they are a little older.

On the other hand I think they would love farm stays, wildlife etc in Tasmania. And you would live the food! There are also nice beaches in Tasmania (underrated probably because it's cooler)!

Have fun deciding, I love planning holidays!

We went to tassie for a holiday at the start of the year and loved it.

The beaches were simply awesome. The water was so clear and the sand was white. And it was very quiet. Though will probably be different around Christmas time I guess.

I think the kids will love the wildlife, zoos etc.

Only thing we didn't love was that it took forever to drive somewhere from where we were staying so I would suggest that if you do go to tassie figure out what you wanna do/go and try to find accommodation near that.
If I think I can figure things out, is that curiosity or arrogance?
