Default Do I use it or throw it?

    Argh!

Supermarket Lady put a packet of bacon and a block of cheese in the same bag as my boxes of cereals.

Nine hours after the shopping trip (an afternoon/evening from hell!), I'm unpacking these bags when I discover this stuff that should've gone into the fridge as soon as I got home.

Now what do I do? Do I keep them or toss them?

For the record, I organise my trolley in a very OCD manner and unpack accordingly. I can not possibly make Supermarket Lady's job any easier. Grrr. Mini vent over.

If in doubt chuck it out! Food poisoning is hellish especially with two young kids. Trust your gut(no pun intended!) you will kick yourself if you or your family fall ill. But hey, maybe i am just paranoid...

9 hours is too long, I'd toss it.

I'd toss the bacon, but depending on the weather would maybe keep the cheese...

But 9 hours is a heck of a long time too.

Throw it and ring them and complain and see if they replace it. I put mine up OCD style too and they still do stuff like that :/

I'd keep the cheese if it was a block of tasty style cheese, not if it was a soft sort of cheese though. I would toss the bacon for sure.

ETA. I live in a cold climate though, if I lived in QLD or somewhere warm I would toss the lot!

Chuck it, after 9 hours. Maybe call & make a complaint/give feedback about the poor packing skills.
I hate it when they put stuff in mixed up. I have a very structured way of putting items on th e bench too...not hard to pack it orderly.

I would keep a hard cheese, particularly given it's winter.

It's so cold down here that I would keep it.

Is it a hard cheese? In a vacuum style pack? I'd say it's ok if it was a hard cheese and it's not overly warm where you are?
Hard cheese is pretty resilient, especially when it's in a tightly sealed pack.
    Toss the bacon though
