Default Front wheel drive vs Rear wheel drive

..which do you prefer? Is one safer than the other? Do you find any real difference?

I have an AWD, and from the safety aspect, this is the best!

I've had 3 front wheel drive cars and now I have an AWD. I will never own anything else now.

I've only ever driven front wheel drive...

But according to top gear, rear wheel drive is always the way to go!

My first car was a little Ford Lazer, RWD, totally awesome, great control . I tried to find another RWD for my next car, but none met my other criteria. Now we've got an AWD, and it's pretty good too though I haven't had a chance to test it in the wet yet. Good luck with your descision!

What cars are you looking at?? Depends on vehicle too/size of engine etc etc. but I think RWD is better. But that's just an opinion.

I'm looking at 6 cyl cars, nothing too small, I've got my dp and my father helping me out since I don't know much about cars lol, my dad is having a look at a 2002 mitsubishi magna for me, but I noticed its front wheel drive, my dp reckons its better to go for a rear wheel drive. His car is what I've been driving around in the most and it's a rwd.
