    Default Ovulation Tests

    Hi Ladies,

When is the best time to take the ovulation tests morning or afternoon? On the box it says anytime and last month i used them in the morning just thought i would check when others take them.

    Hi happy86
It is better to do OPK's using daytime urine...unlike pregnancy tests which require FMU. This is the first cycle I have been testing and I got my first positive yesterday cd22-it was at about 3pm.
good luck! It's so fun when you get a positive...I was jumping up and down like I had won the ovulation lottery

I always did my tests around 7pm and that time worked well for me.

If you're struggling working out what time suits you best, you can always do 2 a day around the time you think you should O and see what works best - maybe one mid-morning/midday & one in the evening.

Good luck with it and I hope they work well for your.

And also do you ladies mainly start dtd from after you get the positive on your ovulation test? Last month we did it for 2 days before i got the positive and then on the day i got the positive and then that was all and i didn't conceive im now thinking maybe we should try every second day this time

Hi! We are on our 6th month of OPKS Mine says between 10am-8pm I do them at my after lunch wee usually 2-3pm. I get my positive CD17-20 with a luteal phase of 8-9 days We are trying vitamin b6 this cycle to see if that makes a difference i'm on cd14 now
We Dtd every two days for the last two cycles, the cycles before that we Dtd every day when I got the positive OPK! To get DS#1 we only Dtd once in that cycle!!!!

With the OPKS you can get a positive and not ovulate for up to 48 hours. It's an indicator that you are about to ovulate!

    Hi,

Maybe that's where i went wrong not dtd days after the positive test. I was exactly the same with my DS we dtd just the one day in the month and got pregnant straight away not using any OPKS now 2years later and we are trying for our second and this will be our 4th month trying and 2nd month of using OPKS im starting to wonder why it hasn't happened yet i guess i just expected it to happen straight away since it did the first time.

It's incredibly frustrating hey!! I'm starting to get worn out and knowing that DH is having to leave for 4 months has really "put the pressure on" in a sense. Although we know our little man is only 6 months old so we shouldn't be in a rush. It took us 2 years of trying to get Noah and then that cycle we only dtd once! Very frustrating!!

But definitely try DTDing AFTER the positive OPK. They say to DTD two days before Positive, on the day of the positive and two days after.

Hi happy86, fertility friend recommends DTD 3 days before O, day of and day after...if your man has a healthy sperm count they suggest every day increases your chances. So soon as you get your pos OPK DTD, and do it the next day, and hopefully you've done it the few days before the OPK too.
Every 2nd day BDing is recommended when the guy has a compromised sperm count.
    good luck and to you!
