I am so excited, bought Elevit today and start taking it tomorrow! All of a sudden this all feels so real. We will be trying in around 12 weeks

I have been with my husband for 8 years and married for 6 years in Feb. Where does the time go?? It really has gone so quick.

He is my best friend & inspires me in many ways to try to be the best version of myself, he is focused and determined and always finds a reason to be happy rather than dwell on the negative things that happen in life. He simplifies problems and dramas and its very emotionally stable which rubs off on me in a very positive way (especially that time of the month haha). He knows what he wants in life and has worked very hard to get it, some people say we are "lucky" but I know our success has nothing to do with luck... it is directly linked to my DH's vision and drive (and lots of hard work on both out parts). I admire his attitude to life and love him to bits!!!

Hes going to be a great daddy and I cant wait to start the next chapter in our lives together

Disney I agree its great to look at our lives and really appreciate what we have!

Great Idea Disney, All your DP and DH sound lovely!

DH and I have been together for a little over 8 years, and married for 8 months. Im smiling my head off just thinking about all greatness that he is to me
Our first meeting was him coming to pick me up from the local pub. I was out with friends and rang my sister to see if she would come and pick me up, she had been drinking but was at her dp at the times house. but she asked his flat mate if he would go and pick me up (apparently before he met me there was a running joke between their friends about Krystal's (my sis) hot sister)
So he came and picked me up and took me home. My night and shining Armour came to save the day
from that day on I started spending more time with my sis, and crashing on the couch at her dp's house (where dh also lived) and eventually love blossomed and i quit sleeping on the couch and moved into his bed lol (even though I said I was not interested as i had just finished a long term relationship with someone else and was determined not to meet someone on the rebound) Don't know where I would be without him now!

I love that even in his down and very anxious times that he is so courageous, and caring. I love that he makes me laugh each and every day and that he shows me how much he loves me every day. I love how attentive he is to everyone other than himself and that we just click on every single level and can talk about anything to each other, the good, bad, funny and gross stuff love him to bits xoxo

Just a side note to say how awesome he is....
He is a CFA volunteer in our local brigade and has been a member for 1.8 years as I found out last night) in this time he has learnt so much and given so much to our local community and he became a lieutenant within the first year being in the brigade (from a recommendation from the captain)
Last night we were at the annual dinner and they present service awards (5 years , 10 yrs 40 yrs etc) as well as 2 awards for the brigade, (brigade award and captain award) as the titles suggest, the captain decided the recipient for the captains award, and the brigade members all vote for anyone they like for the brigade award which honours commitment to the brigade and Im sure you have guessed by now, but my amazing DH won the brigade award!!!
from over 50members, my superstar husband, after 1.8 years was voted the most outstanding member of the year!!! I was (and still am) so damn proud of him, I was bawling my eyes out when they presented him and he made a speech!

Sorry for the long and braggy post

    On a totally other topic...
DH cracked this morning and we dtd without any contraception. did an opk this arvo and it was positive so I fugure the random spotting that i got a couple of weeks ago was infact af, and I am in fact ovulating!!1 my cycle may not be as messed up as i thought.

SO who knows about ovulation and opk's?
obviously after a positive opk i will ovulate in the next 24 - 48 hours, is there a possibility that i could end up utd from this morning?
ill try convince dh to dtd again maybe on Sunday (not sure of my chances of that though)

Yep! Those little swimmers can last 3 days I think, and the older they are the more girly swimmers are in the mix, so you could be in for a girl!

I wonder who will be the 2nd in our group to BFP, I think it is between Lil nightmare, shadow angel and Mrs LA. I can't wait to see all those pregnancy tickers go up! Fingers crossed they will all be sticky ones. I think I will be one of the last starting in august and with DS taking 6 months. Oh well will live vicariously though you guys!

MrsLA that is so exciting!!!! I will have my fingers and toes crossed for you, would be fantastic if it happened so quickly woohoo but just the possibilty that is could happen is exciting, cant wait to see how you go.

Yep the swimmers last for 3 days, once you get a positive on your OPK then you need to do the deed within the next 24-36 hours, so I would be jumping his bones again tomorrow night hehe

Now it feels even more real! I am loving it

Random question was it weird Dtd knowing you could get pregnant? We spend so long trying not to get pregnant it's kinda always in the back of your mind so I'm curious to know if your kinda aware that yep we could be making a baby here whilst dtd?

I always wondered if it would feel weird knowing you could be making a baby? I personally think I would be side tracked thinking about the possibility of making a baby & not concentrating on what I should be haha

    We want the uncensored version!!!

Starting to get more and more excited! We've got a baby savings account. We're only on low income, and we want a home birth, and would be nice if hubby could take some extra time off work if possible. Looks like by the end of this month we will hit $1000 in our baby savings account! I'm hoping to get to at least $6000. Figure it's $4k for homebirth, and figure it looks like I'm going to need close to $2k for the things I want to buy before the baby is born. It's relieving to know that we've almost got $1000 in there, and that we'll probably end up with a couple of thousand at least before we even get pregnant!

Figure I worked out that if hubby's shift pattern stays the same, it would cost us $150 a fortnight for hubby to take 2 days off a fortnight which would essentially mean he'd have a full week off each fortnight. So would be nice if I could pay for that to happen for at least a couple of months (and then hope that hubby's work will go for it!). Figure it's nice to know that amount as well - figure it means trying to get everything for the best price is paramount as $150 isn't really a huge amount!

Ok, So ever since I stopped taking the pill about a month and a half ago, I have been trying to convince DH to not use contraception and just see what happens, but he has not been into that at all so we have been mostly using condoms (which both of us hate)

last week or the week before some time we were having some sexy time, and he didn't stop to put a condom on, which I thought was great but didn't say anything. I think he freaked out at the last second and pulled out leaving me more than unsatisfied, and very frustrated and cranky for the next day or so!
Next few times we used condoms, then some time last week he went to dtd without a condom, I was not going to have repeat of the previous time this happened and asked him if he was going to pull out again, he said he prob would, so I made him use a condom for my own benefit lol.

This morning, I didn't say anything as I knew that he knew my thoughts in relation to him changing his mind at the last minute and thinking only of himself (he only ever did it once, but I'm sure he won't do it again lol) when we began I initially was thinking WOW we could be making a baby, but got caught up in the moment pretty quickly and forgot about that again until it was all over my concentration only wavered for a second.
so we dtd without any contraception at all, (now that I think about it, that is pretty full on! I think its the first time in my life aside from 1 or 2 indiscretions as a teen that I have ever done that!!!)
As soon as we were done I was back to thinking about if/when i ovulate and trying to calculate if it is possible to fall pregnant atm.

once we were done, DH had to go out, so I promptly popped a few pillows under my bum and stayed in bed for 45 min to encourage those little swimmers to go up lol

I did an opk on thu and was neg, yesterday neg, so i was assuming that I am not ovulating, and without a definite af, was not surprised.
But I did one this arvo and a very clear positive! I was so surprised!

I kind of have my hopes up, but I do know that it is not likely to get a bfp first attempt.
I am wondering if this is DH's way to tell me he is ready to make babies, or if it was him not thinking, or if he thought we were safe because of the 2 days neg opk's????? I don't want to ask because I don't want to be disappointed by the answer

So good that you are so organised!
we are just saving as per usual and will dip into savings for the big items.
