That sounds awesome LilNightmare! I would get into it for sure if there were people I knew who were into it. What are you dressed up as, and the kiddies? For some reason a kid dressed as a pumpkin popped into my head immediately lol

    Hiya ladies!

Just dropping in its been so busy in here! Ive read, so ill try and reply to everything

    Siblings: 9.5/10. So important!

Preparing for TTC: nothing really here. Trying to loose weight, but came to a stand still. DS and i are on holidays atm, so healthy food is out the window :\ Im going insane! Im thinking of starting some folate in the next few weeks though, JUST incase.

BMI: Im not a huge believer in statistics saying something is the "perfect" something. Ie. BMI = perfect weight... I am overweight, and before we got our BFP with DS, i was actually about 6wks away from weight loss surgery, but chickened out, i just had a gut feeling i couldnt go through with it...Dure enough, 2 days after it was scheduled for i got a BFP!!! (sadly MC though) but then...I went on to have DS....

I DID have high blood pressure during pregnancy... And im sure it was because of my weight, but my GP and OB worked with me and the dietitian and MWs and we got DS here safely. I am a bit more concerned 2nd time around...I now ALSO have to think of DS - hence me trying to loose weight now. But even so, i will still be nowhere near a normal BMI.
in saying that though, At 24wks, i was getting told off from my GP and MWs who sent me to a dietitian because i was "loosing" weight while pregnant. It wasnt that i was trying to loose weight, it was just that a growing baby is PERFECT motivation to take care of yourself and eat healthy...so i did, and in doing that, i lost about 6kgs over the 1st half of the pregnancy....Which, on ME, it wasnt really that big of a deal. Itd be like a healthy person loosing 2-3kgs gradually. After that though, the weight stacked on...(6 id lost, Plus another 8kgs) But after birth i dropped 15kgs in 2 weeks....so technically just the baby weight! (DS was just over 4kgs!)

Although it cant have been too bad for me?, my GP asked me at my last visit "you only have the one child......oh.....so when are you having another?...THAT FAR AWAY?! Are you crazy?? Why not now??.........ok, well if you are TTC in December, I will see you in January with a tiny baby on board" Nice to think we would fall first try, but i dont like our odds.

TTC and loosing weight - PERFECTLY healthy and fine! If you do it with a healthy moderation diet, theres nothing wrong with it, especially if you can keep the same moderation of healthy foods going during pregnancy...and swap aerobics etc for low impact exercise like walking or swimming.

Plans for the weekend: Not much. As of today ive taken over care of my mum. She has torn a shoulder muscle and had a cortisone injection into it this morning, then is starting physio Next week...But until then, is under strict instructions that she must NOT use her arm, at all. Other than that, nothing!

Decided I'm going to give myself a weight loss boot camp for the last 6.5 weeks of term once I finish this prac. Going to try and go down to the pool or go for a walk most days. Eat healthy, nourishing food. Look at dealing with emotions rather than eating them. Cutting out our habit of eating dessert, or at least change it to a healthier dessert!

Also going to look at getting blood tests done once I'm finished prac. Just want to check iron, hormones etc, and then get a referral for the fertility specialist. Figure I'll aim to see him in Feb I think. Would be nice if I could lose 10kg before xmas, and then another 10-15kg before I see the fertility specialist

hamij I am doing the same, we can do it!!! I have a goal of -8.6kg by Feb, this will give me a BMI of 24.2, it is currently 27.

The healthy food pyramid says we need 2-4 serves of fruit so I am going to make a giant tub of fruit salad a week and have that for dessert each night. Maybe you could do something like that for your dessert so you are getting something sweet while still being healthy?

shadowangel I agree that siblings (at least one) are important. I hope to have two kids with at least one of them being a girl otherwise I might go back for a third. I really want a baby girl in my life at some stage

How many kids does everyone else think they will have, and does gender have any impact on how many?

All this cycle tracking and calculations sound so confusing! DP and I were planning to just try for a couple months before worrying about working out when I'm ovulating and stuff... But I do want to conceive asap so maybe we should! I better start reading up, I don't know much about cycles etc.

I have my goddaughter's christening this weekend, sooooooooo looking forward to it! Esp the baby cuddles! I can't believe it's only Wednesday though, this has been a long week!

Hope your mum's shoulder gets better soon shadowangel! Sometimes those cortisone injections work wonders, hopefully it will for your mum!

We want 2 or 3. If we don't get one of each gender we'll def go for 3. If we do get one of each it's up for discussion but I think it's likely we'd ultimately decide to have 3 anyway

oh great idea with fruit salad! Fruit salad with some yoghurt and honey - yummmmm! Means I'll get in the fruit serves too hey - and yoghurt is a serve of dairy - which I also struggle with. Summer always mean lots of salads for us, so hoping that'll help with the weight loss too. I don't necessarily want to focus on losing weight - more on eating to be healthy, which will have the added bonus of shedding kilos!

    I've already got 2 kids - a boy and a girl, and we're going for #3.

We're going to stop at two kiddies but a part of me secretly hopes we'll 'accidently' get pregnant again! It is seriously the hardest thing you'll ever do, but it is truly awesome having your own little person and your own little family I'm so excited for you first time mummies especially!

Great encouragement Cantwait, need a bit of a boost to eat right/exercise and it's great to share it here - I hope you can all reach your goals before ttc (I hope I reach my goal before ttc!!)

Haven't thought too much about ovulation dates just yet, I have pretty reliable cycles. I think it's fun to guess and have a go, which is what we did last time, but when I didn't get pregnant the first month I became a little more obsessed and got some ov test kits. Worked a treat and was pregnant that month!

I was thinking about who I would tell this time round and I think I'd probably share with a few more ppl than I did last time. With DD I told my mum and sis, then bumped into friend at the hospy outside the Early Pregnancy Assessment Office, so kinda had to explain ourselves! I also told my boss who is also one of my closest friends, mostly because I didn't want to have to cover up when I was feeling blah. I was glad I did because I had a big implantion bleed which I thought was a mc and it meant I could just run out the door without too much explanation. Actually - while I'm on that, implantation bleeds are quite common but seem to be relatively unknown. I assumed any bleeding would be a mc but I had a big bleed, then spotting for about 6 weeks after. Just so you know not to completely freak out (like I did!) if you get some bleeding. Sorry if that was TMI!

    Have a good eve ladies

    Thanks Tashee

Oh, i forgot...I Would tell DF (obviously) and we would more than likely tell My mum fairly early on...She knew from 11dpo with DS! lol. As soon as i got my BFP. Mum would probably let it slip to dad, and my oldest brother but id be ok with that....But i think alot would depend on if i got morning sickness this time around, i didnt with DS so was easy to keep a secret.

We wont be telling DFs family - AT ALL. He doesnt see his dad, doesnt even know how or where to contact him, and his mum is....well....a nutcase! We didnt tell her until i was 16wks with DS, and that was ONLY because we were birthing in the town where she lived, and didnt want to get sprung going to OB appointments, or at the hospital etc with a big preggy belly!! However, she made the effort...ONCE...when DS was 4mnths old to travel the 100kms to meet him, for MAYBE an hour. She hasnt seen him since...and honestly im not worried! At times i feel sad for him that he only has my parents, but she is not a stable person, or good role model. We honestly havent heard from her since just after christmas, and its been PURE Bliss! We arent getting 2-3 phone calls a DAY, telling us we HAVE to take "that baby" to see her. She wouldnt even agree to meet us half way! So we never went. I just flatly refused, and as he was partly BF, DF couldnt just take him. Her reasons for not comming was that her partner was drinking...an alco.

Im thinking 2 or 3 will be nice. I would LOVE a little girl...so if we have a girl next, i might be happy, im still unsure...but if we have a boy, id still be happy but i think we'd try again.

good on all you ladies trying to lose weight. I know it can be hard. Id love to lose at least 10 more but if it doesn't happen I'm happy with the amount I've
    lost. So far.

Id like 3 kids. Dp would be happy with one. Not likely. Don't have to convince him now but in the future I may, I guess well see.
