It was diagnosed before we were pregnant. I can't remember why I went to get tested... It was before we started trying though... I remember being told that it'd be a good idea if we started having children if we wanted them as it could get worse - I already only have 1 ovary etc. But we just went on clomid - only took 4-6 months to conceive Soph, thought it'd take a while with my son - fell first time lol. I do disagree with the specialist now that said it'd be harder to fall as I got older - I wish I'd waited a bit longer before starting a family. But now I've got it, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Default 2013 is so far away!

Stupid phone!!! I wasn't ready to send that yet!!!
    Anyway

Great to hear all your stories. I think I will avoid morphine because I don't react well to a lot of drugs and I am thinking morphine would be the worst

Great news about the docs lilnightmare. How good about no needles? I was wrapped that I didn't need any. (I was born way before the cut off though) if u don't mingled me asking what were u tested for relating to working with children? (just ignore me if you would rather not say)

I'm 30 in march and my dad I'd pestering me to organize a party but I don't want too because I hope to be pregnant and would rather not have a party and save the money

Thanks for sharing birth stories! I'm so interested in everyone's experiences, mainly since I started watching One Born Every Minute Might be a weird question but those of you who have had babies, did you make a lot of noise? Like screaming and yelling? Everyone on shows like OBEM make a lot of noise. I'm a very quiet person and I'd feel so self-conscious yelling. Maybe I won't care/notice when the time comes but I really think I'm going to be self-conscious about it haha!

Trio - I really like the sound of a spa bath for birth. I find water very calming. Does anyone know whether most hospitals have this option?

I don't really have much of a plan for birth except that it will be in hospital. I think I will try to avoid pain relief but remain open to anything. It's hard to know how I'll deal with it. Women in my family have all had easy births and pregnancies but who knows what I'll be like. Also I have a very low pain threshold so wouldn't be surprised if I needed everything

Oh and on the subject of baby related TV shows... Did anyone watch Call the Midwife on ABC on Mon night? I thought it was great! It follows the story of a newly trained midwife in the 1950s working in a poor area of London. It's eye opening and really well made. Apparently it's getting incredible ratings in the UK, equal or greater than Downton Abbey I read. It's based on the memoirs of the midwife so is based on true events. This lady's memoirs are now on my to read list

I watched call the midwife. Really enjoyed it so far. I didn't pay enough attention to know it was a book, but it is definitely now on my to read list.
Is the book also called call the midwife?
How sad was it when the baby came out blue And they thought he was still born

Yeah that was so sad and they barely even looked at him just put him in a bowl to the side I was so happy when he started crying!

I was really impressed with the show so I did a quick Google after watching it and found out it was based on books. There's actually 3 books in the series. The first one is called Call the Midwife, I think the next 2 have different names from memory. I think they'd be really interesting books. Also I always love a true story and when there are a series of books cos when I really love a book I never want it to end and series prolong getting to the end hehe

Yeah was happy I didn't need any boosters however needles don't phase me. I sit there and watch them go in. In saying that I have several tattoos and piercings too so I think I'm used to them lol

I got tested for cmv. All Childcare workers are at higher risk for it however it's only potentially threatening for babies if you haven't had it before. Most ppl have had it and not realized though. It wasn't something she was going to test for, I requested it. I'd rather know if I've had it or not before i fall pregnant and know if i can or can't work in the baby room anymore.

I hear a lot of people saying they have it but I don't know what made them think to go and get tested. I've never had any kind of period issues, never had period pain at all, so I often wonder if that's a good or bad thing?!?

I haven't heard of it? I might jump on to the abc website and see if I can watch it online!

My cycles are all over the place. My periods are all over the place in timing and length. I'm wondering if it was a cycle issue that made the dr test me.

In regards to noise when in labour, I don't think I was overly noisy... though when you're in labour you just don't care anyway. Figure I'm rather reserved, shy etc. I had all my clothes off once I was in established labour and quite frankly I couldn't have cared who wanted to walk in at that point in time.

I have heard of that Call the Midwife - I've downloaded it and had it on my drive for a bit, might have to start watching it. We like getting into TV series - watching Dharma and Greg (again lol), and True Blood atm. Well that and Big Brother Gotta have some totally dead brain stuff to even out uni lol
