Default Tube tying - who's done it? Opinions?

Is it a common contraception option? Like if you are really sure you don't want any more kids. Or is it hardly done anymore?Has anyone had it done? Is it easy to get done or arranged to be done? Whats the process? Any complications?Any info would be really appreciated

I haven't had it done yet. I arranged it at the birth of my last baby, I am on the waiting list now. My cousin asked her gp for a referral and got it with no trouble.

I had it done while I was having my c-section with my 3rd child. While I was (and still am) sure that I was done having kids, I also knew that when the youngest became a toddler I'd get clucky again so I figured this way I couldn't second guess myself.

I was very straight forward...they got her out, asked me if I was sure and that was it. I think that part took maybe 20 minutes. The recovery was the same as if I hadn't had my tubes tied and I've not had any side effects. Actually its been fantastic not having to think about contraception and frankly, the pill and implanon used to make me into a bit of a lunatic so its nice to be drug-free.

    Hope that helps.

I had a tubal ligation during the birth of my 4th daughter in February. I was 1000% certain I didn't want anymore children but now that I have had it done I kind of have regrets, no idea why..

I had my tubes tied during my DS2's emergency c-section. I'd love another child bu the risk to them and to me is just too great.

It seemed simple enough, it just meant I was on the table for a bit longer.
