Default Herpes outbreak in the first trimester

My partner cheated on me with a girl from work. Last time we did it I was about 10 weeks pregnant. Within days I started to get pains in my tummy, went to the Dr. had STD checks and he thought it was a bladder infection. Days later started getting thrush symptoms for about a week. Over the weekend I started to get painful little blisters. Went to the Dr again yesterday and he thinks its herpes, still waiting on test results but he has started me on Famciclovir Sandoz.

I have just gone 12 weeks and my ex is still trying to make me go get a abortion. Last year I found out at the 20week ultrasound our baby did not have a heart beat, I am so scared of losing this baby.

Can anyone help with any information? Does herpes effect the baby?

I have no advice but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that your partner did that to you. I can't believe how selfish some men can be!

I hope it turns out to be something else.

Bonkers is offline wishes she was a glow worm. A glow worm's never glum, 'cos how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out of your bum?

I no they might have you have a csection, I'm sorry I'm not much more help. But good luck and do what you think is right not what he is pushing you to do. Xxx

Oh you poor thing. As far as I'm aware, a Herpes outbreak in pregnancy is only really a major concern when you're in your third trimester and of course when you're about to deliver, which in that case they would do a c/section (if you had an active outbreak).

The good thing is that your Doctor has given you some antibiotics as I believe the worse case is always the initial outbreak. You must try and get lot's of rest, drink plenty of water, eat well and as hard as it will be, not stress, because anything that is a 'virus' such as herpes etc, will always show it's face when you are run down, and your immune system is compromised anyway when you're pregnant.

I hope you'll be ok, all things considered.

The main issue is that if you have an outbreak close to delivery date they may suggest a csection. Also.. you poor thing..
