    Default how old is your babysitter **spinoff**

    just out of interest; how old is your babysitter and how did you find them?

    mine is 21 and is my cousin. i love her.

    i also have a nanny who is 24 and i found her on gumtree.

    We don't have one either.

    We used one once, and she was brilliant!!! She was 16. I was so sad when we moved towns because she was so good.

    Yes, it is! My mum comes up sometimes but she is 3 hours away and all other ffamily are even further! Wuold be lovely to go out with DH just occasionally! I would feel comfortable with someone over 20 who I knew well

    Mine is in her 70's. Atm she looks after him every 2 or 3 wks for 2 night and 2 days. Otherwise there is also my nana and there was a hubber but that is no more

    There's my mum.

    My sisters who are adults.

    My eldest son or his GF, both 17.

    My niece who is 19 (she has babysat since she was 14).

    I don't have a babysitter other than mum/MIL, but in regards to that other thread, my SIL is 17yo and sometimes watches the kids for an hour or two if MIL can't get there on time, and has done so since she was about 15yo. I think it depends on the teenager, and also on what they will be required to do with the kids when they're there (ie, dinner and bed, or just play games).

    I so agree.

    It depends on who the person is.
    For some families the 14 year old neighbour is a better choice then a 30 year old stranger.
    They would know the neighbour and feel safer.
    There is NO right or wrong.
