    I did mention earlier that the petrol thing isn't always right- its wrong in my car, and my mums car.

    I thought that it wasn't where the picture is on your dash, but which side the fuel pipe is on the picture itself? So if your picture/symbol has the tube and nozzle on the right, that's what side your cap is on? That's the story I had heard anyways, it may be another rumour!!

    He fuel pipe is on the right hand side. My tank is on the left. Same as my mums car. Ones a Toyota and ones a Kia.

    Re the fuel gauge symbol, I've checked a few now and they've had arrows to the side with the cap. What's going on?! I want a theory that works, dam it!

    the hose/nozzle is always on the same side (the symbol never changes)

    that sucks you don't have a triangle!
