Default My cat just caught a bird..

I managed to release it and she's locked up. But i think its wing is broken so it can't fly away. What should I do????

Arghhhhh. This is the worst part of owning a hunter. I can't bear to see animals injured.. I'm bawling my eyes out. Is this bird going to be ok????

Thats what cats do it's in their nature.
Best bet is to try and keep the cat inside or put up cages outside so the cat can not get to wildlife.

The bird will most likely die.

Do you know what kind it is? Maybe you could put it in a cage and give it to someone who has experience with birds?

Should i take it to the vet? It was perfectly fine apart from its wing. It wasn't bleeding anywhere. She has caught birds before and they have always been released and been ok apart from the initial shock.

Is there maybe a parks and wildlife hotline you can call in your area? Im on my phone so cant see where you are but there should be something like that you could call. Or best bet would be to call a vet and see if they can take it or point you in the right direction of somebody who can Good luck; poor thing..let us know how you go

I've just gone back outside to check on its progress n it's gone! We dont have anything in out garden to hide in.. And our fences are tall.. I think it's ok and has managed to fly enough to get away. I hope it finds somewhere safe to heal.

    Cat is on lockdown..
