    Hi all,
Have been watching from a far. I had a dr apt on monday and it went well. He ordered a massive amount of blood checks so that was good. I think he covered all bases. I see the Dr that I will be continuing with throughout the whole pregnancy on Fri so looking forward to that. Im actually starting to feel a little bit pregnant now... peeing lots and sore b00bs. Going by my LMP the Dr thinks im 8 weeks... but I don't think thats right as I only got a positive test last week.

Lilli... im not a Dr but I do specialise in WH and ante/ post natal care. In my experience the exercise that you are doing is fine. The main thing to watch it that it is not bring on any cramps, shortness of breath, discomfort or bleeding. Pregnancy is not really the time to start any NEW exercise. Some people shy away from high impact/ strenuous exercise which is OK as well.. it all comes down to be sensible. The other important thing to watch is that you dont over heat and that your heart rate doesnt get too high.

good luck to those who are still to test.

I wanted to ask you a question regarding exercising and pregnancy. Is it ok to keep going as normal in the 1st trimester (3 runs per week, slow jog of 7-9km, some strength sessions with abs work, and cycling classes from time to time)?

Oh and also, I have been tested with low vitamin D levels a month ago. Should my GP check for these levels now that I am pg? To make sure the supps I am taking are working? Cause so far he has only asked for Hcg...

    Thanks for your advice
Firstly, I agree with IdaCat. Most Obstetricians advise that it is OK to continue at your current exercise level, but certainly don't increase it to anything more. I would avoid any really heavy lifting, but light weights are fine. Regular, low impact exercise is very beneficial in pregnancy and should be encouraged.
As for Vitamin D, the answer is yes. Your GP or OBGYN should order "routine antenatal blood tests" very soon, which should include Vit D. Many Australians are Vit D deficient. I presume you are already on folic acid?
I will probably test July 31st, at the earliest.
Hope that answered your questions; feel free to ask anything.
    J x.

Well no AF for me yet but I havent tested again. Maybe just late this month. Feel emotional today but got hit in the eye with a tennis ball at work and it really hurts so I just wanna sit and cry. Don't know if its hormones or pain today ! Haha
Big hug for you! J x.

Thanks IdaCat and J, you are both very helpful!

Just came back with my blood results, it confirmed I am pregnant but low Hcg level (43 ish) so GP seemed worried. Wait and see I say.
