I'm now 9 days late and feeling the signs but way too afraid to test.

J37... I had 6 m/c (misscariages) before my first boy then 4 before my second and 3 before this possible pregnancy so don't give up hope.

Wow...that must have been absolutely awful for you emotionally. I thought 2 miscarriages was alot. I guess the advantages of testing now, is that you can organise an early scan to determine whether the pregnancy is viable. But it is so hard. It really irritates me when people say "But you already have a child". It's not about that. It's a force and desire greater than that. Anyway, am getting teary now, so will do some ironing to distract myself!

I have a question for anyone that has been trying for a while. Do you eventually get to the stage where you don't expect to be pregnant, or is there that expectation every month that you will be, and then disappointment / devastation when you are not?

Yes u do ease ur expectations...with my 1st it took me 20months & in the end i though bugger this im going to enjoy my self (as i was being careful drinking & smoking wise) but in the 2 weeks b4 I found out i was preg there were 2 nights (not in a row lol) DH & I were out with friends drinking & smoking & didnt get home til 4am then 2 weeks later i got my BFP which i wasnt expecting .

AFM: I did my 2nd OPK today at 2pm & test line was bit darker than control line so bring on the BD'ing lol. We actually DTD last night which we hadnt done since thursday last week..hoping to catch the egg soon.

Lil Smurfy...I am now much more wary of a +ve pregnancy test, as even though it is hard not to be excited, both my recent miscarriages happened in the 6-8 week mark. I think I will always be hopeful if I get a +ve pregnancy test, but to me, a viable gestational sac on ultrasound is my cue for REAL excitement. But without monthly hope, we would give up. J.

    Hi Ladies

CONGRATS to the BFP's and welcome to all the newbies!

AFM ~ CD4 here and cycle 3 of trying! Starting to feel a bit down about this whole TTC thing... especially that with DS it was first month... I know its normal to take 6-12 months buts its hard to wrap my head around that and not have high expectations on a quick turn around time. IYKWIM?

Quick question, do you think that Pre-Seed could actually hurt your chances? With DS we used nothing and fell pg first month... this time around I am using Pre-Seed and so far we have missed the egg every month. We are BD'ing every 2 days for the entire fertile week. I am wondering if this month we should just go with no Pre-Seed and see? Any thoughts...

I am a medical doctor, but not a fertility specialist, and all the information I have read imply that all lubricants are toxic to sperm to varying degrees, but Pre-Seed is the least of a problem if you need it. Obviously, your own cervical mucus is the best. If you can, try without. Make hubby put in some foreplay effort to enhance your natural lubrication! Does this answer your question? J.
