Default Help me choose a new car!!!

Hi, I am pregnant with #1 and time to upgrade my little Swift!
We are after a car- either sedan or SUV around 30k... Has to be fairly fuel efficient, room for pram and car seats etc..
Our top contenders so far are-

Mazda 3 sp25 or Mazda 3 sky activ (uses less fuel but similar features)

    Mazda cx5 (base model)

Holden Cruz Sri-v (great features and very fuel efficient)

    Hyundai ix35

Does anyone have any opinions or reviews about these cars? What's better- sedan or SUV??? So confused!!

We test drove a few cars in the suv category and ended up picking the Kia sportage which we have had for a year and absolutely love and have had no problems with it at all!

I changed from a Mazda 2 to a Hyundai ix35. Love it!!! Don't regret the purchase at all. Plenty of space for our needs. Not to big. I commute to work quite a distance and it's very comfortable and great on fuel economy (we have diesel).
I drove cruze and thought it was okay but prefer the SUV. I like mazdas so I guess best option is to drive them, try on same day straight after each other so you don't forget what they're like.
But I do love my Hyundai.

We've just looked at the same range of cars and ended up with a Subaru Forrester XT premium 2008. Loooooove it!

We have a Forester 2008 also, purchased before we had DS. Loved it, right up until we put DS in the car along with the pram and then realised there was no room for anything else (Groceries) and there is no way we'll be able to keep it when we have #2. We recently had a new X-trail as a hire car and it had SO much room and was really comfortable so that's what we'll be looking at getting next.

Oh wow- no room after 2? Eeep! We are just about to have 1 and hope this will last us awhile.
SIL has the same car and with two bubs fit ok, but will DEFINITELY need a bigger for number 3

Obviously it all depends on pram size etc but a pram with two seats will definitely not fit in the boot with any room for anything else. The kids will fit fine but it's the lack of boot space that is the problem. But we live 35 mins from town so generally dont *just* go to do groceries meaning we need the pram too. We just find it not big enough.
