Default Weird/random things that have happened to you?

I was just reading the thread, "Friend demanding my clothes...please help!" and it got me thinking it would be interesting to see if anything bizarre like that or similar had happened to other members.

    I'll start:

A few years back, when I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant with DD , I got a phone call at 9 in the morning from a random number. The girl on the other end knew my name, and demanded to know how my phone number had ended up in her boyfriends phone sometime over the weekend. I tried to tell her that I had no idea who her bf was (I had never heard the name before in my life), but she didn't bellieve me, and kept saying that he went out clubbing over the weekend, she knew he must have met me there, and wanted to know what had happened between us.

I told her that I was about to have a baby, that because of this, I definately wasn't going to any clubs, and besides, I was very happily living with the father of said baby. She didn't want to listen, just kept saying, "please, please tell me the truth, I know he's flirt, I'm not angry at you, I just want to know what happened" and finally yelling at me to stop lying when I kept protesting that I'd never met the guy.

    It was so bizarre!

I haf this guy friend, i met his gf one day and just got idea she didnt like me neither saif anything to me. About a year later i get a call from her, says im *insert bf's name' gf, hes told me so much about you. I think it will be nice if the three of us catch up one dat would like to meet me. At this point im very confused buy just keep saying yeah, aha, i figured out at the end of the call when she called me a wrong name. I called the guy afterwards only to find out our frirndship had caused a lot of problems so much my number was saved under a different name, they guy is a sleeze, girl understandably insecure so she was going through the phone saw our texts and decided to give me a call.

I once had a guy call my house. Wrong number - he was calling from NZ he said, apologised, and hang up. Rang back. Oops, wrong number again, I'm such an idiot he says about himself, and hangs up. He rings back 3 more times. Like immediately after. I think he was semi trying to chat me up. Weird since I was about 16 and in another country. lol.

My partner also got a phonecall recently from an angry Asian woman who ran a Thai shop. She said we had to come pick up our food because she was about to close. She had my partner's name, but my partner doesn't eat Asian and had actually been asleep until she called (around 11pm). She kept ringing back, demanding we come or she'll call the police. She rang back heaps of times, but we just ignored the call.

THE NEXT DAY she called back, saying we could come pick up our food... she'd saved it overnight and would re-heat it for us. LOL. She got angry again and said she'd call the police. Funny thing was it was only ONE dish we apparently ordered... so it's not like she lost a whole heap of money for it anyway.

I think someone must have given her my partner's name and number... but I know he didn't call cos he doesn't ever eat Asian foods.

That's funny.. maybe it was a prank? The other day I got a missed call from a number so I rang back and a lady yelled down the phone "what the **** are you calling me for?".. I said "what?" And then she apologised and said she must have got her husbands number wrong.. lol.. lucky guy there.

At Christmas we received a parcel. It was purchased online, addressed to me. There was no note, nothing. We waited a week and no one asked if we received anything, so we called the store and asked but they said they couldn't tell us. Fair enough.
We still don't know who it was, we are pretty sure it was my parents but even still it was really weird and random.

    Good thread!

I was trying to ring my mums mobile once and had accidentally deleted her number from my phone. I remembered the last 6 digits as it was our old house phone number so I tried to guess the first 4 numbers, pretty easy I thought as it has to be 04??.
On the first call I made a woman answered and sounded familiar so I said "sorry I think i have the wrong number, who's this?"..
It ended up being the girlfriend of a good school friend of mine who I had shared a house with about 5 years earlier!
    Talk about random..

Years ago (before DD) I was out at a club and I saw a guy who looked a lot like an ex boyfriend I still had a bit of a thing for. Hadn't seen him for 3 years (and there was no reason to think he would be at that club) so wasn't sure if it was him. Followed the guy at a distance until he noticed and came up to me, at which point I realised it wasn't him. We chatted for a bit, had a laugh at why I was following him and that was that. A bit later as I was waiting in line to pick up my coat, the actual ex walked up to me! Was so trippy after the false alarm earlier.

A few weeks ago I get a text MSG inviting me to a movie night it was for nurse midwifery students at a uni. I though hmm I don't think I know this person so I replied back asking who it was that I thought they may have the wrong number. They did and said sorry.

Funny thing is I am starting my diploma of nursing this year (for a second i actually thought it could have been from my local tafe) i had been asking for a sign that it was the right path for me just that morning. By 3pm I got it with this text message. The sender was in SA. I'm in QLD. She wished me luck with my studies and said I'll love it. She was in her final year

Shelle's story reminded me of this:

Years ago before DH I had a fling with a guy but it didn't go anywhere. One day a few years later I got a message from him asking how my cat was? Bizarre. Anyway I asked who it was and he replied. I sent a slightly rude message back as he'd been an ar$ehole back when we had our fling.

Then that night i'm out with a friend for her birthday and I was telling her about this random message. We go to the bar for a drink and who comes up next to us? The guy! AND what is weirder is my friend knew him from high school and apparently his mum works with me.
