    Yes, I'd say something like "Congratulations on your baby! Sorry, I'd like to hang on to the clothes, and have already paid for them to be cleaned and put into storage. Hope all goes well with the pregnancy."

    I'd definitely be asking to be reimbursed what you paid, especially as she has acknowledged that you paid for them. Rightly they now belong to you and she has a cheek to ask for them back without offer to reimburse your money. WOW that's an awkward situation to handle.

    wow.. very strange. i would keep them or sell them back. Can't believe she asked for them in the first place I can understand if it was a particular item etc but for the lot. Very strange
