We could all be implicated couldn't we? I mean, for instance, what if it were someone I knew, saw my comment, and worked out who I was from my signature?

    Just putting it out there...
Agreed. I'm not sure seeing herself publicly humiliated and the butt of many, many.....many jokes fits the crime. Although some dark, sadistic, narcissistic part of me would thoroughly enjoy seeing the look on her face

    On reflection, no linkage.

However I hope she's considering how rude she's being. I didn't rent the clothes, I even got a little slip of paper receipt when I handed over the money.

This would have been different if she'd sent "You might know that D and I are expecting again; we've found out it's a girl. If you don't mind, could I borrow some of the used clothes you have, as I'd prefer to use second hand things? I'll mark them with your name and wash them before they're returned. Thank you"

Under those circumstances I would have probably picked out a whole load of nice clothes for her, and delivered them myself, because as I said, I'm not mean, and I like helping out.

Surely it wouldnt've taken long to have a think about her message to me and consider how she'd feel if someone sent that to her.

All her rudeness has gotten her is my utter refusal to help her in any way, and the increase in my Smaug-like protection of my hoard.

TL your exactly right, there is a right and wrong way of doing things. Being plain rude and presumptuous is not the way to do. It is great that your a strong woman because I'm sure there is many not so strong woman who may have handed those clothes back.

Also how funny that people have found this thread and joined BH. TL you should start charging BH a TL fan joiners fee.

I completely agree she's out of line asking for the clothes back. In fact, like PP said, I was even shocked she charged you for them in the first place, my friends and I just rotate baby stuff (inc big items like change tables, rockers etc), i have offered a token amount for very good used baby clothes from a mum at school who I don't know very well, and she even refused to take it, even though she could've sold them on eBay.

But yeah, I somehow think she doesn't realize the magnitude of how odd it is, and think this thread could really hurt her, hearing a whole lot of strangers calling her a nutjob etc. so I think you made the right decision not to link it but to stick to your guns re: the clothes

I can't help but feel a little disappointed that this is how it may end. For the past two days, my life has revolved around crazy. I don't think im ready to give that up.
