No need for the rolling eyes. You could have just made your comment without the nasty dig at the end. She asked if we wanted said items back last year- we had just had a miscarriage do I declined. I fell pregnant again quiet soon after and due to the miscarriage we waited until 12 weeks before getting anything. This is when I asked for the stuff- so a few months after she originally offered them back. I felt like I was asking for them back because of the fact I didn't accept when she first offered. When I first gave them to her the comment was made if we ever needed them again we know where they are. Does that satisfy you? Besides even I if I DID just ask for the items back, I would not have been offended if she said no, nor would she have been offended if I asked. It's a done thing in our circle- unless cash is exchanged.

Sorry OP, will stop hi-jacking now.

I think you should say something like this also. No way id be given her any of the clothes you brought fair and square what a *****.

If theyre all together no problem i'll get them washed when we're done with them so it's exactly like new. You and K don't even know if u can even have another bby so it's only fair that I get the full worth of the clothes. some of them were very expensive u know!!'

So... she wants to borrow my clothes, even the new ones still in packets, with the promise to return them washed once her kid outgrows the size 1s?
The baby is only 25 weeks IN UTERO. It will be a good 2 years until I see the clothes again, if they're not sold on, stained or ruined.

Why do I always attract the loonies. For anyone else this wouldn't even be an issue

"Yes, some of them were expensive, which is why I paid as much as I did for them.

What relevance is my fertility to this issue? You sold the items to me, I now own them. I do not want to "loan them". "

Then I'd add (if u are willing) to sell the items she sold you back to her at the same price. Adding in that you "do not want third hand clothing as they will not be in the same condition and therefor not willing to loan."

What drugs is she on? Sounds like a very loopy lady indeed.

I haven't read through this whole thread but maybe you could say "If I was just some random who bought this stuff from you through gumtree/ebay, would we be having this conversation?".

DH said: "Just be yourself, say whatever you want. I can't hit a lady"

'Sorry but I paid for them and had to get them drycleaned because they were pretty filthy for such precious items. K is going to ram into me like a bull every night but if it fails and we can't have a baby at least we'll have something for the cat to wear in winter. After she's shat in them a few times they'll smell the same as when I bought them from you. You can have them in original condition then!'

That felt good. Like verbal heroin.

I don't like being mean but it is going too far when you as good as tell someone "don't bother, you'll never conceive again! But I have! Hahaha!"

What the heck is wrong with this chick?? She's CRACKERS!

I would soooooooooooo not be giving them back to her, nor selling them back to her.

    I'd be saying

'Check out EBay, you can buy brand new clothes on there super cheap, that way you'll definitely get your moneys worth of 'retail price.'
