    It's the cascade of intervention on repeat. Pintocin (oxytocin here in Aus) leads to fetal monitoring (strapped to the bed) leads to epidural which causes a whole pile of crap to happen. Oh and the purple pushing thing that's if they don't end up on the fetal distress boat.

    The only thing I remember from the couple of eps I watched when I was pregnant was - a lady came in planning on having a natural birth, the MW asks her if she was to have a tooth pulled would she take pain killers / anesthetics, well labour is no different.
    The amount of intervention over there is crazy!
