    No way.

I have a friend who's a criminal lawyer, but I don't think she deals with anything that serious, just robberies and drugs etc.

Nope no way. How could you sleep at night knowing that you are defending someone that has hurt someone?

As a lawyer, criminal law doesn't interest me in the slightest. We used to do a bit of criminal law where I used to work, and I found I had slight distaste for the paedophiles and didn't really want to deal with that on a regular basis.

If I had to do it, I would though. I don't see it as immoral, and commend people who work in that area.

eta: i suppose I like to have a good relationship with clients, and have trust and rapport, and I find that compromised when I don't like them.

I would assume criminal lawyers would need to be like drs and cops, able to detach and not let their emotions get caught up in it?
