The push present is the baby! I've never understood the notion that hubby needs to waltz in with a diamond ring or whatever. The baby is the ultimate present, what could beat that?

I bought myself a diamond ring, after 8 weeks of bed rest I deserved it.

Ridiculous idea. Add it to the list of self indulgent rubbish that mothers think they need

They wouldn't even consider giving the father a gift, as thanks for helping them conceive.

I actually kinda like the idea (my opinion and I don't care if you all hate me for it) and not because I just want a present, I wouldn't even want a baby shower because I don't expect gifts. I've already discussed it with DH and would like my eternity ring if we ever get there (doing IVF). But on the other had I would also get something for my DH.

DH got me a framed foot and hand print of DD (from the day after she was born) as a present.

I like the idea of a present to mum post birth... but it doesnt have to be huge or expensive.

I got DH a keychain with a picture of DD in it about a month later.
