He is a twit, I had a 9 pd 4 oz bubba only needed forceps at the end. Stick to your guns mate and do whats right for your body. Don't let one stupid doctor undo all your awesome preperation. Keep looking at those natural birth vids on you tube and keep positive. You can do this.

What a horrible thing to say. It irks me no end that someone as apparently educated and qualified as a doctor can think so little of a woman's abilty to grow and birth a baby as nature intended, and be so flippant about it.

Keep watching the videos and believe in yourself. You can do it! Have a plan in case they start to push intervention. Ask questions, is it necessary? What are the risks of it? What are the risks of not having it? What are my alternatives? For the best chance of having a natural vaginal birth it is usually best to avoid intervention, especially inductions.

Don't doubt your ability! My dr told me cause I'm tiny and Bub was measuring big I'd almost certainly have to have a c section.... Well 2 months ago today I birthed a 3.08kg bubba completely naturally.... So in my opinion go with what you want to do, if it doesn't work on the day then it doesn't, but at least you'll know for yourself that you gave it a go

Good luck with your birth and wishing you much joy and happiness once your little person is in your arms

My OB told me that doing a scheduled c/s just because the baby seems to be big is not best practice, and quite an outdated approach. He said you just have to wait and see - he believes natural birth is better for mum and bub and you don't know if you can push the baby out until you try!

I know a lot of people on BH are anti-OB but it's like anything - there are good ones and bad ones and everything in between.

So he's just one dude with a crappy attitude and outdated ideas - ignore his comment and trust yourself. I know it's a scary thought having a big baby but provided all is otherwise well, you'll do fine
