Default Getting another ultrasound at 35/36 weeks maybe 4D somewhere on Gold Coast

Sorry the title is so long, I just wanted to get it out what I'm after.

I haven't seen bubs since 20 weeks and I want to get another ultrasound done. I'll probably need a referral won't I and have to pay?

Anyone had a 4D one done on the Gold Coast that was worth it at this point in pregnancy or should I just go for a normal one?

They say those 4d ones should be dine between 30 and 32 weeks, because after that theres not a huge ammount of amniotic fluid, and thats what those 4d ultrasounds rely on heavily in order to see anything.

I had one done at like 33 weeks i think, couldnt see jack, we got a clear picture of a foot, but thats about it. I was soooo annoyed and upset. They still charged me almost 200 bucks.

I thought I'd read that somewhere about the best time being earlier but I can't trust this baby brain at all.

I'm quite happy to go get a normal one done, I think I'm getting all emotional because I plan on this being my last bubs. I'd have to pay for it at this point though, I think, because its not a 'standard' ultrasound?

I forgot to add that it was a referral by my OB to check fluid levels as I had a hind leak. The lady said she had never seen so much fluid so maybe that is why I got good pictures.

What about asking your doc for a growth scan? Alot of docs do them around 32-34 weeks. Just say you are attracting bout bub and would make u feel alot better to see that he was growing all good. That way would be free or a heap cheaper then the private 4d places.
