Default Placenta Prevaria - when did they do your c-section?

    Hi mummies,

At what week did you have your c-section at due to having placenta prevaria?

I have marginal PP, and my Dr. says as its not moved at all, he will plan a C-section if it hasn't moved in 3 weeks - BUT I forgot to ask him at what week will do it. Would it be a week before??

Thanks to share your stories / experiences.

I had mine at 38+6. It would have been a week or so earlier but that was over Christmas/New Year break.

38+3. Was given the choice of this date or a week later due to ob's availability

Hi Bebehavla, they will indeed, as the above women attest, do your C earlier rather than later, (end of 37th to 38th week) as they certainly don't want you going into labour due to possibility of haemorhage. I've not had a PPraevia, but have had a P-abruption.

As I'm sure your care-givers will tell you, please go straight to hospital if any symptoms of impending labour start before your C date. They will expedite your C in that case. Good luck, hope everything goes really well!

    Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I got a bit freaked out as I was ready that they can do them at 36-37 weeks and that's just SO SOON!

Guess, as with all Mums-to-be, I'll just have to wait and see.

I think if you have any bleeding etc then your ob may decide that you will need to have the Caesar earlier.

Well I have had on and off bleeding all the way through this pregnancy, so I am guessing this could be a possibility for me

Kimmnus - do you know what grade PP you have? The more I read and talk to people it seems that it's most common at 37/38 weeks, cause they of course want bubs to be has fully mature as possible.

I've been in hospital once for bleeding, and have had some mild spotting but no big bleeds myself. I am mentally prepared for the 37/38 weeks, but am getting everything done and dusted in case bubs [my first] comes earlier than that.
