Default sometimes im soo grateful for the uncomplicated family..

I read alot on here and in my DIG about ex's, step children, children from previous r.s, children from ex's new partners etc etc and I get EXHAUSTED!!

I honestly don't know how ppl in those situations balance it all and I honestly don't know how I wouldn't be jealous or feel like I was sharing part of my life with someone else family.

It must be a real challenge, some of the stories I hear from the pregnant ladies in my group - boy!

Im not assuming it woudl never be here, who knows where life takes you and what will happen, but for now I am so grateful that I don't have to deal with that right now.

Don't get me wrong im sure all kids and families bring much lov and joy, its just harder I imagine. I remember Lemonhead always saying if her and her hubby ever broke up they woudln't have kids with anyone else and I always thought she was whacko, but now that im pregnant I kinda get where she is coming from.

Anyway no real point to this thread..

It is tiring. I have a pain of an ex and it really gets me down sometimes.

I still count myself lucky as I now have a wonderful, supportive partner and we both get along really well with each other's families.

I find it exhausting reading about nuclear families and non-nuclear in which husband and wife fight so maybe the fact that my DP isn't DS' biological father doesn't matter quite so much.

I feel so thankful every day that my bio dad is *not* in my life so I never had to do the two homes thing.

Conversely, there are times when I wish my bio dad had wanted me in his life too.

I read all the threads and my heart goes out to them. I feel ever so grateful that we have nothing to do with DH's family.
