Not yet Lily - our appt is in a couple of hours. I'm a bit nervous. Because DH didn't see it when I asked him, I thought I was seeing things. But then he saw it too a couple of days later, so I am a bit worried now.

Just got back from the Dr. He isn't worried about her eye. It is doing all the right things dilating, tracking etc and looks otherwise healthy, so he thinks it's just cosmetic.

He offered a referral to a Paediatric Opthalmologist, but I decided not to at this stage. He talked about things they do worry about with eye health and he's a fantastic Dr, so I trust him and we can always revisit it if it does seem to be a problem later.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious. At least you can take the referral later if you think you need too. She looks very cute

Glad you saw the gp today
Did the gp say how long the wait lists are for the paed. Opthamologist? Sometimes it can take up to 6 months to get in and see them, so it might even be worthwhile to take the referral sooner rather than later, and decide from there.

Btw, it reminded me of a pacman too!

Always nice to have the dr not stress about it!
I would probably take him up on the ophthalmologist referral as pp said sometimes it takes months to get in and by then u will probably have some other worry regarding her sight (I was convinced at 6 months my DD had a squint!)
    Glad all is well!

Glad the GP thinks nothing is wrong. I'd also go to the Specialist though, as it sounds like this is pretty rare (only 1 person has replied to this thread saying their child had anything similar) and most GP's wouldn't have seen it before I guess.

MamaC - He didn't say there was a long wait. Most things down here are 6-8 weeks. I know to see the normal Paed for DS was only about 6 weeks. I was the one who put it off longer as the first appt they had was when DD would have been 2 weeks old. So I would only expect it to be a couple of months. I could very well be wrong though!

Mim1 - I hadn't thought of it like that before. I was just happy that in regards to the eye health, he couldn't see anything wrong. But you're right in that it is unusual and not something seen every day.

Guess I'm making a phone call
