MagicMud in the photo you posted i think you look alike but i don't know what you both look like now. You look different but definitely related. If you saw my brother and i you would never, ever guess we could be siblings we are that different in every way.
My DH and his siblings all look different but you can tell they are related still if that makes sense?

Magicmud.. My uni friend is pale and blonde, her next sister is olive with dark hair, her next sister is a bright rang with red freckles pale skin... All from same mother and father (or perhaps the milkman!? Lol).. Genetics are so complex

Whilst red is recessive to brown, I believe it is dominant over blonde, so it really does depend on the parents hair colour.

DiamondEyes - That's funny! I dyed my hair dark purple for a while, and my re-growth looked reeee-diculous!

MothersMilk - Thanks, I like that you think we look related! My DH's family is probably a bit like yours, they all look different, but definitely related too.

SuperTrooper - Maybe there has been some diddling of the milk man going on!

My DD is fairly olived skinned - she goes very tanned in summer and rarely burns. The only reason she appears fair is because we don't let her get too much direct sun.

Yes, they fade to a pale almost dirty blond type of color depending on how dark their red was.

My DS is a strawberry blond and will go white - MOTH has faded to a very white blond, my MIL's siblings are very faded reds

My mum is a red head (or was!) and she just looks like a very light blonde now.
