But my big tip is OUTSOURCING!! Hire a cleaner, get an ironing lady - something to take the pressure off. Yep - I have no me time - but at least I am not trying to fit cleaning a house in around my two days off - I'm just enjoying my time with the kids.

For most people I imagine that they make more money working even if they pay for a cleaner out of their wages. I know I will! We also get our work shirts ironed and have done for years. I cannot iron!!!

Not many people in my field unless they are childless and in a share house.

I've been a working mum with kids in care and a sahm using cc for my break. when i worked work was my downtime. its more about the mental break for me than getting my shopping done.

To hire a cleaner costs $25 an hour. That's 3-4 hours work post tax- just for a 2 hour cleaner. If we had a cleaner and a lawn mowing guy I'd have to work an extra day per fortnight to pay for it..... I'd rather be home with the kids. I am waiting for the day our car is paid off and we have the choice between an extra day at work and getting a cleaner. Also waiting for the day I can qualify as anything else so I stop getting crap nursing pay.

DH & I both work FT. He does 38hrs a week & I do approx 45hrs per week. We NEVER get down time together. He will go off & do boys nights occasionally (once a month) & I try & go chill out with friends one night on a weekend for about 2-3hrs after the kids are in bed.

That 2-3hrs is awesome, I get to be "me" not mummy... And hubby gets to watch uninterrupted football!!

I work 3 days and my DD is at school, and DS is at daycare. My hubby and I give each other regular time out. He has soccer one night and a game on the weekend, while I have gym one night, and go out for a few hours on my own each weekend. I do all of my housework while DS has a sleep on my days off. DH does the groceries and cooking. We also go out together about once a month and my parents or my SIL look after the kids! I'm lucky!

Really? I've never found a cleaner for as cheap as $25 an hour..... Here they are generally $50 an hour!!
