WARNING, SPOILERS! So I'll post in white, select the window to see what I've written *chuckle*.
I found the most recent episode disappointing if I'm honest. So many people are saying it's the best yet, but I really can't work out why .
I found the way the Terry storyline ended was just plain wrong for his character. I honestly felt that he would be the kind of person to offer up his life to save his mate's because of his unborn son. Yes, he has his own family to worry about. But I just didn't want to see Terry as the kind of man that would kill a person who'd saved his life in the past, just to be there for his own family iykwim.
I expected him to offer his life and have the curse broken because of it. I was very disappointed when he shot a man that was on his knees, unarmed and wounded.
I'm also astoundingly disappointed with the way that Bill's character has been changed into the 'bad guy' and Eric has become the good guy. I know that Eric was set up from the start to be a bad boy with an essentially good heart but there was never anything that made me think that Northman would turn out to be a monster simply for the sake of self preservation.
I can only hope that it's a plot twist and that he actually has a plan, although at this point with the bombings that he suggested I can hardly see how that would be feasible.
Basically to me it feels like they're just looking for shock factor storyline now to reel people in, regardless of if it makes sense for a character to act in a completely different manner to the way they have for every other series.
It just seems cobbled together. And throwing SO many storyline together and trying to cram them all into one series kind of seems like someone's heard a death knell and they want to fit it all in while they have the chance.
I really have to read the books to see how different they are!
