Oops sorry Magic forgot this thread.

No was just wondering about your TSH as some GP's will say under 4 is ok. Where as < 2 is optimal.

Id talk to your doctor about a higher dose, as i know 1 tablet a day does nothing for me and I'm little.

Goodluck. How much are you exercising ?

I have been on metformin for a few months now and it certainly hasn't helped me lose any weight. If anything i seem to be gaining weight as well.
I've never had nausea or diarohea as a result of taking it either.

I have insulin resistance so i don't think i can just stop taking it.

My understanding is that metformin will only help you lose weight that you have put on due to insulin resistance?
Ie the insulin resistance makes you store sugars rather than use them and the metformin stops this...

CottonCandy - That's interesting. I haven't heard that before, but I'll definitely be googling that.

Harvestmoon - You probably should keep taking metformin if you have insulin resistance. It's a bummer you seem to be gaining weight too.

Bluelips - No worries. I'm trialing 1500mg per day now and I'll see how that goes. Noticed that I've been getting RANCID heartburn since I upped the dose (could just be a coinky dink though).
I'm exercising about 10 - 40 mins per day, depending on how bad fatigue is.

WiseEnough - Yowser! That's not much notice!

*sigh* I'm a bit disillusioned with Metformin, I had such high hope!
