The comments are what prompted me to start this thread. After reading them I started to wonder if I had somehow misinterpreted her article so thought I'd put it to the BH masses to see if it was as screwed up as I thought.

Renesme, Nemmi and Nicolleta (who quoted me), I absolutely agree with what you said in response!

So to reiterate before people think I'm crazy, I don't condone the author's attitude or behaviour at all, but I can see how it could start fairly innocently (for the reasons I gave) but coupled with personal and relationship problems and an already (by our cultural standards) abnormal attitude towards s*x, it could progress into an unhealthy and potentially harmful mother-child relationship. Which I think is what happened in the author's case.

It doesn't justify anything, but does rationalise it a little.

I'll admit I skim read it the first time I totally missed heaps of it, like I read lost sexuality, afraid of sex after tearing, I totally misread the masturbating breast feeding... like... I'm a "breast feeding mother" and I can masturbate but NOT AT THE SAME TIME !!!! and then not needing sex because my children do meet my needs for intimacy and by the end of the day demand feeding I'm "touched out"

then I reread because of comments here and went omg what?!? what?!? yeah no..... no.... thats awful!

so maybe those agreeing (I didn't read comments though ) misread it? I really hope there aren't parents out there going "oh yeah me too" :-/

fair enough too... I can sort of follow how she got where she is/was writing that. I do think she needs SERIOUS therapy before she should be allowed near children.
