Anal fissure with newborn

So my baby has been a terrible sleeper the past 2 weeks waking every 1 to 2 hours around the clock so i took him to the doc thinking it was reflux as he sometimes looks in pain.. He said he has an anal fissure and gave some cream .

Has anyone else's baby had this? Would this be the problem with being so unsettled at night? Seems odd..

Just to add.. I am breast feeding and 2 bottles if formula nan ha at night. No blood in poo and he does poo once a day so was also confused why he has this and him saying its causing the lack of sleep..

no one else's bubba had one? apparently they are really common in babies...
anyway an update the cream seems to have settled him but when stop it he cries heaps again..anyone else have a story??
will take him back to doc soon i dont know how long this should take to heal??
